Nakatani, Yoichiro
Profile
Dr. Nakatani was educated at the University of Tokyo, where he received a B.S. degree in 2001 (Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Science) and an M.S. in 2003 (Graduate School of Mathematical Sciences) followed by a Ph.D. in 2007 (Department of Computational Biology, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences) for his research on the genome evolution of vertebrates and teleosts. After working as a Project Assistant Professor at the University of Tokyo (Department of Computational Biology, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences) and a Research Fellow at the University of Dublin (Department of Genetics, Smurfit Institute of Genetics, Trinity College Dublin), he became a Specially Appointed Associate Professor at Osaka University (Department of Cancer Genome Informatics, Graduate School of Medicine) in 2019. He was appointed to his current position as Professor at the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD) in 2024.
