Taniguchi Scholarship awardee 2019

The 2019 Taniguchi Scholarship awarding ceremony took place in Taniguchi Memorial Hall on May 30th. Taniguchi Memorial Scholarship program is intended to support young research scientists, funded by the Research Foundation for Microbial Diseases of Osaka University (BIKEN Foundation※). Established in 1962, this program has been supporting more than 600 researchers.
This year, eight postdoctoral researchers and seven graduate students were honorably awarded the scholarship. We hope these young researchers would have outstanding research achievements in the near future.

※BIKEN Foundation has been engaged in the development of vaccines while the Research Institute for Microbial Diseases (RIMD) has conducted basic research on microbial diseases. Today, BIKEN manufactures various vaccines, e.g. Varicella vaccines, influenza vaccines and Measles-Rubella Combined vaccines.
