Professor Shizuo Akira to receive the Keio Medical Science Prize

Professor Shizuo Akira is to win the Keio Medical Science Prize. The research subject is “Elucidation of molecular mechanisms of innate immune response for microbes”.
This prize gives recognition to the outstanding and creative achievements of researchers in the fields of medicine and life sciences, in particular those contributing to scientific developments in medicine. The award ceremony and commemorative symposium will be held on November 29, 2010 at Keio University.
