Dr. Masayuki Horie received Awards for the first Ikushi Prize of the Japan Society for the Promotion

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science announced on Wednesday, January 13 that Masayuki HORIE, a graduate student (as of April 2010) at Department of Virology, has won the first Ikushi Prize of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science\'s Ikushi Prize was established on the 20th anniversary of Emperor Akihito\'s accession to the imperial throne through an imperial donation to support and encourage young researchers who work steadily despite severe economic conditions.

An awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, February 1 at The Japan Academy in Tokyo.
