Prof. Masato Okada is inaugurated as the 23rd Director of RIMD

On October 31^st, 2019, Professor Masato Okada is inaugurated as the 23^rd Director of Research Institute for Microbial Diseases. Director Okada takes over Professor Yoshiharu Matsuura, who completed his four-year term of office on October 30^th. Professor Tetsuya Iida assumes Vice Director while Professor Nobuyuki Takakura is assigned to Support Director, the newly created position from this term.

Profile

Dr. Okada graduated from Kyoto University School of Science in 1981 and received his Ph.D. from Osaka University in 1988. He worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Protein Research at Osaka University and became an Associate professor in 1996 in the same institution. He was appointed current position as a Professor of RIMD in 2000.
