On March 4th, RIMD signed an MoU with Indonesia’s Bandung Institute of Technology on SARS-CoV2 research. An agreement ceremony was held online on the same date.

With the agreement, RIMD offers our experimental techniques on SARS-CoV2 research to Bandung Institute of Technology. The technology provisions include technologies for producing recombinant virus using reverse genetics and a technique to measure virus infection.

Bandung Institute of Technology is our long-time good partner through our own scholarship program called ‘Taniguchi Overseas Scholarship Program.’ With the program, we have been accepting nine graduate students from the university, and they are engaged in research work at our laboratories.

The experimental technology will be provided by a scholarship alumnus from Bandung Institute of Technology, who is earning a doctoral degree this March.
