Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a major causative agent of chronic liver diseases including steatosis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Dr. Okamoto and Dr. Matsuura et al. (Dept of Molecular Virology) found the novel target to inhibit virus proliferation. This finding could be clue to develop a new drug for anti-HCV therapy.
