RIMD welcomed delegates from Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency

On Tuesday, October 8th, we received five delegates from Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency, or NSTDA, including Executive Vice President Prof. Prasit Palittapongarnpim and Prof. Kazuhito Fujiyama with Osaka University International Center for Biotechnology. Representing our institution, Vice Director Prof. Masato Okada and Former Director Prof. Eisuke Mekada welcomed the delegations. Then, the guests visited Iida Laboratory, or the Department of Bacterial Infections, Research Center for Infectious Disease Control. They were given an explanation on the laboratory's research topic by Specially Appointed Asst. Prof. Somboonthum Pranee. Finally, Prof. Tetsuya Iida showed them around the NGS Core Facility to see a Next Generation Sequencer and its large scale computer system for NGS.
