A brief history

Eiji Hara obtained his Ph.D. at the Tokyo University of Science in 1993 and moved to the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, University of California (Berkeley, USA) as a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on cellular senescence with Dr. Judith Campisi. In 1995, he joined the Imperial Cancer Research Fund laboratories (London, UK) as a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on cell cycle control with Dr. Gordon Peters, and then became a Group Leader at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research, Christie Hospital NHS Trust (Currently renamed Cancer Research UK-Manchester Institute, in Manchester, UK) in 1998. In 2003 he returned to Japan as a professor at Tokushima University, then moved to the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research in 2008 and Osaka University in 2015.
