Acute inflammatory responses are important in host defense, whereas dysregulated inflammation results in life-threatening complications. Neutrophil infiltration plays an important role in inflammation. However, it has remained unclear how neutrophil infiltration is regulated. Here, we found that PILRα regulates neutrophil infiltration during inflammatory responses via modulating integrin activation using PILRα-deficient mice. Our findings provide a potential therapeutic target in acute and chronic inflammatory disorders.
