研究内容

 熱帯地域における蚊媒介性疾患は、近年の地球温暖化に伴い、その流行地域を拡大している。タイ王国で問題となっている、デング熱/デング出血熱やチクングンヤ熱などの蚊媒介性のウイルス性疾患に関して、迅速診断キットの開発、ヒトならびに蚊におけるウイルス分布調査、そして発症メカニズムの解明に向けた研究を行う。特に臨床検体を用いた解析をマヒドン大学熱帯医学部と共同で推進する。これらの共同研究を通して、マヒドン大学熱帯医学部および我が国の感染症研究者の育成にも力を注ぐ。

主な研究課題

1) タイにおける蚊およびヒトにおける蚊媒介性ウイルスの侵淫状況の調査。
2) デングウイルスとチクングンヤウイルスに対するヒトおよびマウスモノクローナル抗体の作製と、その性状解析。
3) 作製したモノクローナル抗体を用いた診断キット開発。
